Feature · 3-Way Handshake

Knock. Challenge.
Connect.

The 3-Way Handshake is the protocol underneath every introduction on FirstMove. Three steps. Mutual at every stage. Nobody messages you unless you've both agreed.

Step 01 · Knock

Signal interest. Quietly.

See someone in the room you'd like to meet? Knock on their profile. They don't know it's you. Nobody else sees it. Nothing happens until they decide to look back.

Step 02 · Challenge

Mutual verification, both sides confirm.

If they knock back, the system verifies that both of you want to engage. No accidental matches. No one-sided interest leaking into someone else's night. Mutual or nothing.

Step 03 · Connect

A short chat. Designed to end in person.

Once the handshake completes, a brief, ephemeral chat opens. Just enough to find each other in the room. The chat exists to get you off the phone, not onto it.

What it stops

Connection without the creep factor.

The handshake isn't a feature bolted on top. It's the only way anyone gets to talk to anyone else inside a VibeZone. That makes a lot of bad social patterns architecturally impossible.

No DMs from strangers

A message can only land if you both opted in. Cold inboxes don't exist here.

No cold approaches

The room reads itself. You don't have to walk across it to find out if anyone's interested.

No awkward rejections

A knock that doesn't come back is just silent. Nobody loses face. Nobody knows.

No public profiles

Nothing to scroll, screenshot, or save. Profiles exist for the night, then go.
